Overview

Vechiles Accidents are one of the most causes that lead to death in most countries of the world, human error mostly is the main reason of these accidents.

Mazda, Honda and other companies provide their algorithms for Collision Avoidance System (CAS), basically any algorithm should have the following considerations:

bulletAvoid all collisions.
bulletNever do a faulty intervention.

In this project we model the vechile with our smart CAR (its our acronym for Cotrolled At Risk car), and we wrote our algorithm for collision detection and avoidance.

 

Project Technology

The Technique used is depending on measuring the distance to the nearest obstacle to the car, it looks like the way that a bat do to avoid obstacles, we use an Ultrasonic sensors in measuring & take a decision (there is a risk or not), then perform a certain action determined by the decision taken. So we have 2 modes (Normal mode & Risk mode) 

  1. Normal mode: The driver has the full control on driving the car while the car status is safe.

  2. Risk mode:  At risk, the control is switched off from driver control & switched on to a Risk mode algorithm that performs such a suitable action due to the Risk situation (Brake, Turn Right, Turn Left) & after finishing the Risk algorithm, the car control is switched on again to the Normal mode.
